The property of Andria Liluashvili, a relative of former State Security Service head Grigol Liluashvili, has been confiscated in favor of the state following a court ruling that sentenced him to 12 years in prison, according to the Prosecutor’s Office.
The seized assets include 70 real estate properties worth approximately GEL 35 million, 17 vehicles, 125 pieces of jewelry and paintings, as well as funds held in bank accounts, the Prosecutor’s Office said.
According to the prosecution, the court found Andria Liluashvili guilty of giving a bribe, assisting in bribery, and laundering particularly large amounts of illegal income. Investigators alleged that he was involved in the activities of fraudulent call centers, which were allegedly protected through his relative Grigol Liluashvili, in exchange for monthly financial benefits.
The Prosecutor’s Office said that between 2021 and 2022, Grigol Liluashvili allegedly received $1.365 million in bribes through Andria Liluashvili in exchange for protection of fraudulent call center operations.
The court also determined that illegal proceeds and funds of unexplained origin were placed in bank accounts, invested in affiliated companies, and used to purchase real estate and movable property in Georgia and abroad, according to the prosecution.
