German Ambassador to Georgia Hubert Knirsch declares that Georgia can still export high-quality agricultural products in Germany, as the demand is high.
“Quality agricultural products are highly demanded in Germany. German companies, working on food processing, are really looking for such products. But, other sectors should be added to the agricultural products. For example, there is already a clothing industry in Georgia and I think it has great potential, there are many other sectors, such as furniture manufacturing or even services, such as computer technology, design. Georgia has many talents in these areas. This is also a type of export that can be developed," said the German diplomat.
According to him, many new Georgian products are exported on the German and European markets, which have not been there before.
"Georgia exports fruits and flowers used to make perfumes, or tea supplements. I am glad that Georgia’s exporting products are becoming more diversified," the ambassador said.
Georgia exported products of 61,759.9 thousand USD to Germany in 2020, while in 2019 – exports amounted to 54,262.8 thousand USD.
