The Georgian government has announced that the restrictions will be temporarily lifted from December 24 to January 3. However, epidemiologists and medics advise the government not to lift the restrictions.
The Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development, Natia Turnava, declares that she will meet with the representatives of trade facilities in the coming days and will discuss the issue with them.
According to the Deputy Minister of Health, Tamar Gabunia, she understands well how the public is waiting for the restrictions to be lifted and says that this issue is very dangerous.
"We have to be very careful in easing the restrictions, because what is happening today is the result of these restrictions. The hospital sector has been working at full capacity for the last 2 months and if we go back to this rate in January, it will be the hardest to carry. We have to monitor the signs of stabilization this week and then make the decide," Tamar Gabunia said.
