Georgian government is discussing the introduction of “safe status" for hotels, restaurants and nightclubs.

“The sole tool to defeat the coronavirus is vaccination. On the instructions of the Prime Minister, we are working on an action plan to encourage the business and citizens take the responsibility for the vaccination process.

The business understands very well that vaccination is the only solution to avid point restrictions. We are working and considering the status of a safe restaurant, nightclub, hotel, which will be attractive not only for the locals but also for the tourists. You know that despite all the risks, we have resumed international flights and decided to open a market for vaccinated foreign tourists. We have also opened borders for about 40 countries from which tourists simply enter by PCR test, because it is critical for us," said the Minister.

Natia Turnava explains that tightening of the regulations does not mean a total "lockdown", as it would be hard for the country's economy and would deal a big blow, for which the country no longer has the resources.

The Economy Minister noted that their goal is to overcome the current situation with point restrictions instead of the full lockdown.
