US Ambassador Kelly Degnan visited the Multimodal Terminal in Batumi. During her visit to the terminal, Ambassador noted how such investments pave the way for other U.S. businesses to look at the Georgian market and utilize its potential as a transportation, logistics, and commercial hub.
“The United States supports Georgian economic development by working with American firms to enter and compete in Georgian markets. The Multimodal Terminal in Batumi is an example of this support, representing the biggest American investment in the Adjara region”, - says the US Embassy in Georgia.
General Director of the terminal, Mamuka Murjikneli thanked to Mrs. Ambassador:
“It is a great honor to host U.S. ambassador - H.E Kelly C. Degnan during her visit to Batumi Fertilizer Terminal which was built with U.S. FDI. I would like to express my gratitude for her support at every stage of this project”.
The Multimodal Terminal in Batumi was opened last summer. The investors of the terminal in Batumi port were the American corporation Trammo and the Wondernet Express Investment Group. The total investment to the project amounted to 25 million USD.
According to Mamuka Murjikneli, who summed up 1-year-results in April with Forbes Talks, since July 2021 terminal’s capacity has exceeded 400,000 tons, which, is more than the company's first year's plan.
