Wondernet Express Investment Group, plans to build a mineral fertilizer terminal in the port of Aktau jointly with Kazakh partners.
A trilateral memorandum of cooperation has already been signed among Kazazot, Aktau Sea Port and Wondernet Express Investment Group for the implementation of the project.
As Mamuka Murjikneli, CEO of Wondernet Express Investment Group, told BMG, the increase in mineral fertilizer production capacities in Central Asian countries has created the potential to build a terminal in the port of Aktau, which will serve the products produced by KazAzot JSC, as well as carry the fertilizers from other countries to Georgian Ports.
“We have been working for several years to serve the cargo that flows through the “Middle Corridor” from Central Asia to different countries of the world through the Black Sea ports. We saw the potential and decided to build a fertilizer terminal in the “Aktau Port” with our Kazakh partners. In the future, we will consider taking cargo from other countries of Central Asia as well. It is worth noting that “KazAzot” produces saltpetre and the company has also started construction of a new Carbamide plant, which is a rather interesting project,” - Mamuka Murjikneli told TV-program "Business Course".
According to him, the details of the project are currently being worked out and only then will the capacity and investment volume of the terminal be determined.
"We plan to build a terminal in a very short time and start cargo services, which will shorten the route and in a shorter period of time it will be possible for the cargo to reach from Central Asia to its final destination in Europe or the American continent," - notes Murjikneli.
"KazAzot" began exporting products through the "Middle Corridor" for the first time in history, in February 2024. The company supplies ammonium nitrate to various countries of the world from Batumi Port.
