Georgian Dream’s Prime Minister, Irakli Kobakhidze, emphasized the vital importance of rational and pragmatic international relations for Georgia amid fundamental changes in the global system. He made the remarks during his speech at the annual ambassadors’ conference.
Kobakhidze highlighted the critical role of Georgia’s diplomatic missions in consolidating support for the country’s sovereignty and territorial integrity. He noted that, despite the occupation of 20% of Georgian territory, the policy of non-recognition remains an unchanged priority, and successes in this area are largely due to the efforts of diplomats.
“The annual ambassadors’ conference has become a valuable platform for dialogue. Today, it allows us to review a challenging year, during which we overcame numerous difficulties, thanks in no small part to your dedication and work,” Kobakhidze said, expressing gratitude to all diplomatic staff, particularly ambassadors.
He stressed that in a complex region like Georgia, adapting foreign policy based on pragmatism and rationality is essential. Kobakhidze reiterated the significance of diplomatic missions in advancing the country’s interests internationally, particularly in upholding non-recognition policies and supporting territorial sovereignty.
