Rehabilitation of the National Palace of Students and Youth Completed – GEL 56.4 MLN Spent

The rehabilitation and restoration of the National Palace of Students and Youth has been completed, with a total of GEL 56,428,251 allocated from the state budget for the project.

The large-scale works, launched in 2020 by the Tbilisi Development Fund under the “New Tbilisi” program, were carried out by the construction company Ins.

The renovated palace was officially reopened by Tbilisi Mayor Kakha Kaladze, together with Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze and Minister of Culture Tinatin Rukhadze.

According to Tbilisi City Hall, the project included:

  • Full rehabilitation of engineering networks;
  • Strengthening of the building’s foundation and structures;
  • Restoration of the facade, roof, and drainage systems;
  • Renewal of the historical garden fence and wrought iron gates;
  • Conservation and restoration of the Hall of Mirrors, as well as other artistic and decorative halls;
  • Yard landscaping and restoration of doors and gates.

Located on Rustaveli Avenue, the palace was originally built in the mid-19th century. It is renowned for its distinctive architectural spaces, including the Hall of Mirrors, Marble Hall, and White Hall.

Today, the National Palace of Students and Youth serves as a cultural and educational hub, bringing together up to 4,500 students.
