Georgia’s renewable energy sources generated 1,122.1 GWh of electricity in June 2026, accounting for 99.8% of total domestic power generation, according to the Georgian Electricity Market Report by OMNIA. Hydropower plants produced the majority of renewable electricity with 1,114.3 GWh, while wind power contributed 6.4 GWh and solar energy 1.3 GWh.
The country’s total electricity generation from renewable sources was 295.3 GWh, or 20.8%, below the planned level for the month. The largest contributors were Enguri HPP with 538.3 GWh, large reservoir and run-of-river hydropower plants with 332.2 GWh, Vardnili HPP with 102.2 GWh, and other small hydropower plants with 60.8 GWh.
Thermal power generation remained minimal in June, with only 1.7 GWh produced by thermal plants, while their operation had not been included in the planned electricity balance. During the month, Georgia imported 12.9 GWh of electricity, entirely from Azerbaijan, and exported 36.8 GWh to Azerbaijan and Türkiye.
Domestic electricity consumption reached 1,015.5 GWh in June 2026. Retail consumers accounted for 581.3 GWh, wholesale customers consumed 303.3 GWh, and electricity consumption in the occupied territory of Abkhazia amounted to 130.9 GWh. Total electricity losses reached 71.3 GWh during the month.
