Georgia earned $267.9 million from wine exports in 2025, a 3% annual decline, according to official statistics. Wine remains one of the country’s leading export products, ranking fourth in the national TOP-10 with a 3.7% share.
Export performance in 2025 was uneven. The year began with a sharp decline in shipments, followed by a positive shift in May. However, monthly figures remained volatile throughout the year: exports declined in August, increased in September, dropped again in November, and rose in December. As a result, the value of exports fell by 3%, while export volume declined by 5.1%.
The average export price of Georgian wine stood at $2.9 per liter, nearly identical to 2024 levels. Reduced sales primarily drove the downturn to Russia, Georgia’s largest wine market. Due to this drop, Russia’s share in total wine exports decreased slightly from 66.1% in 2024 to 63.7% in 2025. Overall, exports to CIS countries fell by 4.7% to $205 million, still accounting for 76.7% of Georgia’s total wine export sales.
In contrast, wine exports to the European Union, which made up 13.4% of total wine shipments, grew by 6.6% to $36 million. Among major export destinations, Georgian wine fetched the highest average prices in the United States ($6.1 per liter) and Germany ($4.7 per liter), while the lowest prices were recorded in Poland, Ukraine, Russia, and Belarus.
