On June 18, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan met with U.S. Deputy Secretary of State Richard Verma. According to the Armenian government's press service, Pashinyan emphasized the importance of consistently developing the Armenia-U.S. strategic dialogue and deepening multifaceted cooperation.

Nikol Pashinyan noted that Richard Verma's visit facilitates discussions on bilateral relations, democracy-strengthening programs, expanding economic opportunities, and enhancing interaction at the local governance level.

Richard Verma expressed the U.S.'s readiness to strengthen cooperation with Armenia in various areas, including collaboration with local authorities and communities, as well as in the fields of economy and education.

The parties discussed the implementation of agreements reached at the high-level Armenia-EU-U.S. meeting held on April 5 this year in Brussels.

They also exchanged views on the peace treaty between Armenia and Azerbaijan, the border delimitation process, the "Crossroads of Peace" project, and the implementation of the government-approved housing program for displaced persons from Nagorno-Karabakh. Prime Minister Pashinyan emphasized the importance of support from international partners in this matter.

Earlier, BMG reported that political contacts between the U.S. and Armenia have intensified sharply recently. Following the concluding session of the strategic dialogue between the Armenian and U.S. delegations on June 11, the parties issued a joint statement.
