Vehicular and public transport traffic will be fully restricted at the Chovelidze Street junction from midnight on 1 November until midnight on 2 November due to scheduled infrastructure works at the intersection of Chovelidze Street and Melikishvili Avenue, as part of the ongoing Rustaveli Avenue rehabilitation project.
According to a statement from Tbilisi City Hall, vehicles travelling from Melikishvili Avenue will be rerouted via Kostava and Zandukeli streets. Drivers approaching from Kostava Street can detour by turning onto Nikoladze Street, continuing along Melikishvili Avenue, Janashia Street, and Barnov Street.
“During the restriction period, the route direction along Chovelidze Street will be adjusted for Bus No. 378 and Minibus routes No. 408 and No. 420. Specifically, Bus No. 378 travelling from Station Square towards Rcheulishvili–Japaridze streets will proceed from Varaziskhevi towards Kekelidze Street, connect to Barnov Street via Janashia Street, and turn onto Chovelidze Street before resuming its standard route.
Minibus routes No. 408 and No. 420 travelling down Dzmebi Kakabadzeebi Street from Barnov Street (near Rustaveli Metro Station) will no longer proceed towards Kostava Street. On the return journey, they will be diverted via Mikheil Zandukeli Street towards Barnov Street before rejoining their regular routes.
Tbilisi City Hall apologises for any inconvenience caused,” the municipal statement read.
