Rukhi Hospital Served 25,000 Patients in 2025, Including Residents from the Occupied Territories

In 2025, the Rukhi Republican Hospital provided medical services to 25,000 patients, including residents who crossed over from the temporarily occupied territories. The information was released by the Ministry of Health. The agency did not specify how many of these patients came from the occupied region of Abkhazia.

Rukhi Republican Hospital is one of the most technologically advanced medical centers in the region, continuously working to improve service quality, expand medical offerings, and enhance the training of healthcare personnel. The facility has become a key provider of high-standard care for both local residents and patients arriving from across the Enguri Bridge.

According to the ministry, the Minister of Health, together with the State Minister for Reconciliation and Civic Equality, visited the Rukhi Hospital. The ministers congratulated the medical staff and patients on Christmas and the New Year and familiarized themselves with their health conditions. Mikheil Sarjveladze and Tea Akhvlediani also visited patients who live in the temporarily occupied territory of Abkhazia and receive medical care at the Rukhi clinic.

Mikheil Sarjveladze emphasized the strategic importance of the Rukhi Republican Hospital, noting that the facility provides high-quality medical services to the local population and to patients arriving from the occupied territories. Tea Akhvlediani highlighted that access to top-standard medical care in close proximity to the Enguri Bridge is a clear example of the government’s efforts carried out within the framework of reconciliation, trust-building, and peace initiatives. It was also noted that the hospital has not only expanded its capacities but has made investments that have significantly improved the quality of healthcare services in the region.
