Since the full-scale invasion, Russian troops have killed 450 children and wounded another 872. The Prosecutor General's Office reported the update on Telegram.
"More than 1,322 children were injured in Ukraine as a result of the full-scale armed aggression of the Russian Federation. As of the morning of December 30, 2022, the official number of child casualties has not changed (450). The number of injured has increased to 872," the statement reads.
It is emphasized that the numbers are not final, as work is ongoing to verify reports coming from the zones of active hostilities, temporarily captured and liberated territories.
According to the prosecutors, the largest number of children were affected in Donetsk region (428), as well as Kharkiv region (268), Kyiv region (117), Mykolaiv region (81), Zaporizhia region (80), Kherson region (77), Chernihiv region (68), Luhansk region (65), and Dnipropetrovsk region (40).
In particular, on December 30, a 14-year-old girl was injured as a result of an enemy missile attack on Kyiv.
A total of 3,126 educational facilities were damaged as a result of bombardment and shelling by Russian troops. Of them, 337 were completely destroyed.
As reported, as of December 26, more than 330 children in Ukraine were listed as missing, Ukrinform reports.
