“We have been observing Russia’s aggressive policy for centuries, and our response to Russia’s policy will be Europe, peace and peace in Europe,” said Georgian President Salome Zourabichvili at the briefing related to Monday accident when Russian occupation forces shot dead a Georgian citizen and wounded and abducted the other in the occupied Tskhinvali region.

The President offered her condolences to the family of the killed Georgian citizen and the whole of Georgia.

President Salome Zourabichvili said holding peaceful negotiations with Russia was illusionary. Georgia’s future was in Europe, and therefore, the opinion of the European Commission to be published on November 8 was of utmost importance, she went on to say.

The President urged Georgians to convene at 8 p.m. tomorrow not for a concert but to start collecting signatures as “our voice in Europe” in anticipation of the final decision in December.

“Our society should be united today around the great initiative that requires much mobilization and activity, and tomorrow will be the day against Russia’s yet another attempt to change our agenda. Tomorrow, we will gather and say that our future is not in Russia. We will have a great message for Europe. We will tell Europe and send our voice to Europe. We must all stand together,” she said.

A Georgian citizen, Tamaz Ginturi, was killed during his illegal detention in the occupied territory of Kirbali village, and another Georgian citizen was abducted on October 6.
