Searches Are Being Conducted At The Houses Of The Founders Of Seized Funds

ნანუკა ჟორჟოლიანი

Houses of Nanuka Zhorzholiani and Mariam Bajelidze, founders of the seized funds, are being searched. Both of them are at home with their young children.

They said that neither of them was allowed to leave; they were waiting for their lawyers to arrive.

Representatives of the Ministry of Internal Affairs entered the houses of Nanuka Zhorzholiani and civil activist Mariam Bajelidze.

As can be seen from the Facebook Live, the ruling cites Articles 318 and 319 of the Criminal Code as the reason for the search. Article 318 refers to sabotage, while Article 319 refers to "assisting a foreign country, a foreign organization, or an organization under foreign control in hostile activities."

The case concerns the investigation launched by the Prosecutor's Office in the so-called sabotage case as a result of Vato Shakarishvili's appeal. Within the framework of this investigation, the bank accounts of the "Nanuk's Fund", "Prosperity", "Tbilisi Human Rights House", "Shame" and "Fund for Each Other" were frozen.
