During today's meeting with regional municipality mayors and assembly chairpersons at the Shida Kartli Regional Administration, Head of Government Administration's Regional Liaison Department Leri Barnabishvili presented Shida Kartli's new Governor/State Representative Valerian Mchedlidze. The newly appointed Governor emphasized the importance of close cooperation with self-government and all issues prioritized by Shida Kartli's municipalities.
"Today, we presented the new Governor/State Representative in the Shida Kartli Region, Mister Valerian Mchedlidze. Originally from Shida Kartli, namely from Gori, Mister Mchedlidze is well aware of the region's problems and challenges. In addition, he has worked various managerial positions in state structures, including in the Ministries of Infrastructure and Agriculture. His sufficient experience working in these intuitions focuses on the region's socioeconomic development. I am confident that Valeri will prove a very effective manager and State Representative/Governor. He will succeed in coordinating between local and central authorities and in effectively meeting challenges underway in Georgia's regions on the Prime Minister's initiative," Leri Barnabishvili said.
Valerian Mchedlidze thanked the Prime Minister for his trust.
"I would like to thank Mister Irakli Garibashvili, Prime Minister of Georgia, and the Georgian Government, for their trust. Originally from these parts, I am quite familiar with this region. I will use all my knowledge and experience to do more for this region, to implement new projects and follow the plans set by the Government," Valerian Mchedlidze said.
