On November 15, Yerevan will host the Silicon Mountains 2024 Technology Summit, focusing on the applications and challenges of artificial intelligence (AI) in the economy. Around one thousand specialists, along with representatives from both the public and private sectors, are expected to attend.
According to Armenpress, Chairman of the Union of Employers of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) Armen Baldryan highlighted that while AI was seen as a distant and unattainable technology back in 2019, it has now become part of everyday life, with its widespread adoption anticipated in the near future.
For the first time, this year's summit will precede the International Microelectronics Forum. Organizers emphasized Armenia's strong potential in this field, aiming to develop innovative solutions that will foster the country’s economic growth.
Deputy Minister of High-Tech Industry Ruben Simonyan underscored the importance of hosting such events in Armenia, noting that AI-driven digitalization will eventually encompass all areas requiring automation and process optimization.
The summit will also discuss the introduction of the StepAI educational program in high schools, as a memorandum has already been signed with the Ministry of Education. The event is organized with the support of Armenia's Ministry of High-Tech Industry, Ucom, and the USAID “Economic Foundations for a Resilient Armenia” program.
