Silknet says it investigates up to 2,000 personal user data alleged unauthorized disclosure

Due to alleged unauthorized access and disclosure of personal data of a small group of users, probably up to 2,000 people, Silknet is taking measures to respond to a computer incident, the company said in a statement.

According to Silknet, the company is closely cooperating with the State Security Service investigators regarding the alleged computer incident.

“The company declares with full responsibility that there has been no unlawful dissemination of subscriber calls, text messages and other telecom service information. We emphasize that privacy, transparency and accountability are fundamental issues for the company.

Regarding the fact of the alleged computer incident, the company is closely cooperating with the State Security Service as a cybersecurity regulator under the Law of Georgia on Information Security and is implementing measures necessary to prevent, investigate and prevent this incident in the future.

Based on the investigation results, decisions regarding further legal action will be made shortly. In consideration of the topic’s significance, Silknet will gradually disclose all necessary information on the incident, ensuring it does not undermine existing cybersecurity measures or the ongoing investigation’s interests,” the statement reads.
