Silknet today announced that its wholly owned subsidiary, Silk Cloud, has signed an agreement to deploy NVIDIA Blackwell Ultra infrastructure in Georgia. The investment marks the first phase of a planned sovereign AI factory designed to give businesses, startups, researchers, and institutions local access to accelerated computing capacity for AI development and deployment. The AI factory will be built using NVIDIA HGX B300 systems from HPE. It is expected to launch in 2027, subject to the necessary authorizations.

Silk Cloud will offer enterprise-grade AI services supporting model training and inference, including the development of Georgian-language large language models (LLMs) and AI applications tailored to local needs.

By establishing AI computing infrastructure in-country, Silknet aims to strengthen Georgia’s domestic AI capabilities and provide a local hosting option for organizations addressing data residency requirements.

“This investment is a first step toward building the capabilities that can position Georgia in the emerging global AI economy and enable it to become part of the infrastructure behind it,” said George Ramishvili, Chairman of Silk Road Group.

“Georgia should have the capacity not only to consume AI, but also to build it. AI infrastructure is no longer just a matter of technology – it shapes a country’s competitiveness, its pace of innovation and its ability to create new business opportunities. For Silknet, this project is part of expanding our technological capabilities and building the next generation of digital services.” said David Mamulaishvili, CEO of Silknet.

As the first NVIDIA Blackwell Ultra cluster in Georgia, the deployment forms part of Silknet’s broader strategy to expand from connectivity into advanced digital and AI infrastructure.
