Sinomi Retail is negotiating with three international brands that could enter the Georgian market from 2028, according to company Director Rezo Magalashvili. The company is not disclosing the brands’ names at this stage.

Magalashvili said all three are global leaders in their respective categories and that Sinomi Retail is seeking to bring them to Georgia if negotiations are successful. He added that the company’s presence in seven countries strengthens its position in discussions by offering brands access to other regional markets, including Armenia, Azerbaijan, Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan.

He said Georgia’s small market remains the main obstacle to attracting major international brands. Some companies require markets to have at least 2 million residents and GDP per capita above $15,000 before considering entry.

Georgia’s GDP per capita is currently around $11,000 but is growing rapidly, Magalashvili said. He believes continued economic growth will gradually increase international brands’ interest in the Georgian market.
