Georgia imported $243 million worth of smartphones in 2025, marking a 3% decline from the previous year, according to Geostat. This continues the downward trend seen in 2024, when both the value and quantity of imported phones also decreased.

The United Arab Emirates remained Georgia’s largest supplier, accounting for $145.7 million in smartphone imports, reflecting the UAE’s role as a major global re-export hub. The Czech Republic followed with $53.6 million, also primarily re-exported devices, while Vietnam ranked third with $22.5 million. Direct imports from China totaled $12 million and from Hong Kong $5.1 million, though most smartphones originate from Chinese manufacturing.

Georgia’s smartphone imports have declined for two consecutive years: from $285 million and 878,000 units in 2023 to $252 million and 828,000 units in 2024. The number of units imported in 2025 has not yet been reported.

Based on available data, the average import price of a smartphone in Georgia stood at $304 (824 GEL). After adding 18% VAT, the typical import cost reaches roughly 973 GEL, meaning that a newly imported device enters the Georgian market at an average price of around 1,000 GEL.
