Mountain Trails Agency (MTA) declares, that the snowmaking system at mountain resorts always work when needed. This is how the agency responded to criticism of the business regarding the snowmaking system.
As Miranda Esakia, co-founder of the cafe “Mtvrali Alubali” in Gudauri, stated in an interview with bm.ge, the resort met the ski season unprepared. According to him, the snowmaking system is not working now.
In turn, the Mountain Trails Agency told bm.ge that currently, 5 kilometers of the 80-kilometer track are snow-covered, where the corresponding system is installed.
"The total length of the tracks is 80 km. Snowmaking systems work at the distnace of 5 km. However, not all tracks are fully opened," the MTA explained.
Reminder, Gudauri resort opened on December 21, Bakuriani on December 7, Goderdzi on December 14, and Mestia on December 21.
