Georgia’s Agriculture Minister Davit Songulashvili met with fruit exporters to discuss existing needs and challenges related to exports and possible ways to address them, according to the ministry.

Songulashvili said coordinated cooperation between the government and private sector is important for developing exports. “Our goal is to help expand export opportunities and increase the competitiveness of Georgian products in international markets. To achieve this, we are meeting with business representatives to work together on finding more effective solutions,” he said.

According to the ministry, a working group will be established with the participation of exporters, ministry representatives and relevant agencies. The group will examine the identified issues in detail and determine appropriate ways to address them.

The meeting was attended by Deputy Ministers Lasha Dolidze and Lasha Avaliani, Chairman of the Fruit and Vegetable Exporters Association Vakhtang Bezhitashvili, as well as heads and representatives of relevant ministry agencies and departments.
