During today’s session of the Parliamentary Bureau, a legislative package was introduced proposing the abolition of the Special Investigation Service.
According to the draft amendments, the Law on the Special Investigation Service will be declared null and void, with the positions of the Head of the Service, along with the First Deputy and Deputy, to be abolished.
The amendments also specify provisions regarding monetary compensation for its officials and employees.
Furthermore, the draft law stipulates that criminal cases currently under the jurisdiction of the Special Investigation Service will be transferred to the investigative authority of the Prosecutor’s Office.
