The State Revenue Committee (SRC) of Armenia has prevented two cases of drug smuggling, according to the agency's press service.

Recently, the SRC received information that the head of one of the Yerevan-Tbilisi-Yerevan trains of the South Caucasus Railway CJSC (SCR), identified as G.K., was periodically transporting medicines from Georgia to Armenia without customs control on the route from Tbilisi to Yerevan.

SRC officers detained G.K. in the parking lot near the entrance to Sasuntsi David station while he was loading two large black polyethylene bags weighing about 25 kg into the trunk of his car. It was found that all the contents of the bags were medicines. A protocol was drawn up regarding this customs violation.

In addition, the SRC received information that a citizen, identified as D.S., was importing medicines from Georgia to Armenia in his car, bypassing customs control. SRC officers directed his car to the customs control zone.

As a result of the inspection, 24 kg of various medicines hidden between the doors and the gas cylinder in the trunk were discovered. A protocol was also drawn up for this case.
