Davit Narmania, the chairman of National Energy and Water Supply Commission (GNERC) declares that a tariff increase in the energy sector is not expected.
According to Narmania, it is planned to establish new tariffs on natural gas in December, however, a consumer tariff increase is not expected due to the current currency exchange rate and other factors.
"Tariffs are not expected to increase in the energy sector. However, we have to set new tariffs on natural gas by December, but the consumer price increase is not expected due to the current currency exchange rate and other factors", - Narmania said.
According to him, Georgia has a long-term agreement with Azerbaijan on the supply of natural gas, so the supply prices will be unchanged.
"The prices of natural gas in Europe and our region have increased, which is largely caused by the Russia-Ukraine war and other factors, although this does not affect Georgia," Narmania noted.
The GNERC revised electricity consumer tariff late in 2020, which would be valid for three years.
