Mamuka Khazaradze, the Lelo for Georgia party leader, has been granted bail of GEL 50,000 as a preventive measure by Judge Arsen Kalatozishvili at the Tbilisi City Court.
“I do not recognize this illegitimate Parliament or the commission it has formed, just as the civilized world and democratic nations reject it. This is my steadfast protest, and it will remain unyielding. No decision can alter my conviction, a sentiment I conveyed to the judge.
Moreover, in the five years since I entered politics, there have been numerous attempts by the Georgian Dream to personally discredit me through various fabricated cases, a point I also made clear in court,” Mamuka Khazaradze asserted.
Khazaradze’s case was forwarded to the prosecutor’s office on March 25 due to his neglect to appear before the Parliament’s “Temporary Investigative Commission Studying the Activities of the Regime and Political Officials from 2003 to 2012.”
Yesterday, the prosecutor’s office formally charged him with failing to comply with the request of the temporary investigative commission of the Parliament of Georgia.
