Tbilisi City Hall is expanding its “Micro and Small Business Support” pilot program into a full-scale initiative, significantly increasing funding opportunities for local entrepreneurs. The announcement was made by Mayor Kakha Kaladze during a municipal government meeting.
The key change is the increase in the maximum co-financing limit. Previously capped at 20,000 GEL, beneficiaries will now be able to receive up to 50,000 GEL in support. According to the mayor, the pilot phase showed strong interest and positive results, with around 50 entrepreneurs funded last year to purchase equipment and expand operations.
Under the revised scheme, co-financing rates will vary depending on the requested amount: up to 90% for projects under 5,000 GEL, 85% for 5,000–20,000 GEL, 80% for 20,000–30,000 GEL, and 70% for 30,000–50,000 GEL. Priority will be given to businesses with active operations and clear development plans.
City Hall officials say the expanded program aims to strengthen local production and create new jobs. Application details and deadlines will be announced in the near future.
