Terabank, Liberty Bank, and Basisbank announced on Wednesday that they would comply with international sanctions.

The three commercial banks said they would continue to work in line with the requirements of international partners.

Liberty Bank stressed it would comply with the Sanctions List Search tool of the U.S. Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC), limiting service to high-risk clients.

Earlier, on September 20, two leading Georgian commercial banks, TBC and Bank of Georgi (BoG), announced they would comply with the international sanctions.

On September 19, the National Bank of Georgia (NBG) lifted restricted access to bank assets and financial transactions to the US-designated former Georgian Prosecutor General Otar Partskhaladze.

The National Bank issued a statement informing the public of the amendment to its regulation. NBG claimed that “being guided by the Constitution of Georgia and the presumption of innocence, it considers that the Georgian citizen cannot be subjected to international sanctions in the absence of a conviction by a Georgian court.”
