The Biltmore Tbilisi Hotel says the first half of 2026 delivered mixed results, with a strong start to the year followed by weaker demand due to geopolitical tensions and flight disruptions.
Sales Director Mariam Kutateladze told BMG that January exceeded budget expectations and February also performed well. However, cancellations increased in March and April amid global geopolitical developments, while the suspension of flights from India significantly affected bookings. Demand began to recover in May and June as flights resumed and reservations picked up.
Kutateladze said the hotel's busiest season is still ahead, with corporate and MICE tourism expected to accelerate from September through December. While India had been a key MICE market in previous years, Turkey has emerged as a particularly active source market in 2026.
Despite rising operating costs, the hotel has kept room rates unchanged, with strong occupancy helping offset higher expenses, she added.
