“2023 for the Committee will be busy in financial-economic terms and full of challenges. Maintenance of the economic growth, intensification of inclusiveness, fiscal risks deriving from the state enterprises and the reforming in this direction, as well as reduction of inflation is the incomprehensive list of the tasks that we have to get concentrated in 2023”, - the Chair, Irakli Kovzanadze stated.
According to him, the key task of the Committee is to manage the consideration and approval of the state budget and oversee the financial sector. As he elucidated, the Action Plan envisages the enhancement of the lawmaking and oversight activities, which will be backed by TWINNING project.
As he noted, the best European experience is of high importance in enhancement of parliamentary oversight. The EU-funded 2-year twinning project on public service undertaken in the Parliament for the first time has been launched by the Committee in 2022.
The AP also includes: consideration, analysis and due response to the reports of the State Audit Service, National Bank, Finance Ministry, Insurance Service and other financial structures.
