The Competition Protection Commission of Armenia has taken action against the company LLC "Global Shipping," better known to customers as "Globbing," for unfair competition and misleading consumers.

The Competition Protection Commission of Armenia fined "Globbing" 53 million drams, equivalent to approximately $130,000.

The commission's investigation revealed that from January 1, 2022, to April 25, 2023, the company failed to meet the promised delivery times in at least 26% of air shipments from China to Armenia. "Global Shipping" had promised delivery within "5-10 business days," but a significant portion of shipments exceeded this time frame.

Furthermore, the commission found discrepancies in the information provided by the company. The main page of the website stated a delivery time of "5-10 business days," while in the "Terms and Conditions" section, the company indicated that delivery times were conditional and that it was not responsible for any delays.

During the investigation, the commission also studied the practices of international companies involved in delivery, such as FedEx, DHL, and eBay, as well as the experience of competition authorities in Georgia and Poland. Special attention was given to the concept of "dark patterns," which involves misleading consumers with inaccurate or unclear information about delivery times.

"Globbing" is a popular service in Armenia for delivering goods from abroad. The company offers services for purchasing and delivering products from online stores in other countries.
