The EU Ambassador Congratulates The Population Of Georgia On Europe Day In The Georgian Language

On May 9, the European Union and its member states celebrate Europe Day. As stated in the information released by the EU representation in Georgia, this is the date that marks peace and unity in Europe.

Ambassador of the European Union to Georgia Pawel Herczynski, released a video address and congratulated the population of Georgia on Europe Day in the Georgian language.

"We celebrate Europe Day. Georgia meets this day with a European perspective. This is a great success! The next stage is obtaining candidate status, which will bring Georgia even closer to EU membership. This goal is supported by the vast majority of the population. This is a historic opportunity to become a member of a united, safe and economically strong European family. I wish Georgia success on this path! I congratulate you on Europe Day!", said the Ambassador.

The representatives of the embassies of the EU member states also joined the celebration of Europe Day. In a video dedicated to this day, the ambassadors describe in their native language what Europe means to them.

In addition, today, in the National Theater of Rustaveli, a ceremonial reception dedicated to Europe Day will be held, where the Georgian State Symphony Orchestra, under the direction of Nikoloz Rachveli, will perform in front of the audience. The event will be opened by the President of Georgia Salome Zurabishvili and the Ambassador of the European Union to Georgia Pawel Herczynski. The reception will be attended by representatives of the government, the diplomatic corps, the artistic sphere and the media.

According to reports, the Peace Bridge and the TV Tower, as well as the Batumi football stadium, will be lit up in the colors of the European Union flag.
