Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze responded to questions about whether he obtains a visa for frequent visits to Hungary, saying:
“We will handle this very simply - we submit an application, get a visa, and travel to the respective country.”
He criticized the European bureaucracy, describing the situation as tragic. Kobakhidze noted that the EU had canceled the same visa regime five times for diplomatic passports, drawing a parallel to the repetitive practices of previous administrations.
“This shows, once again, the double standards and lack of accountability within European bureaucracy. It’s a tragic situation that has been created,” he said, emphasizing that for Georgia, the issue itself is no longer a matter of concern, but rather a reflection of systemic inefficiencies.
