On June 11, under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan a meeting was held to discuss the draft Strategic Employment Program.

During the discussion, the priorities, goals, existing problems, and solutions outlined in the program were presented. The goal of the program is to increase employment by creating a competitive workforce and expanding opportunities for high-productivity jobs.

It was emphasized that achieving the set goals includes, in particular, increasing women's employment to fully and sustainably realize their potential in the labor market, as well as developing women's entrepreneurship, especially by stimulating the employment of middle-aged women (30-40 years).

An exchange of opinions took place, with various viewpoints expressed on different points of the program.

Nikol Pashinyan instructed to summarize the issues raised and the suggestions made during the discussion, and to refine the draft of the strategic program based on them.

Earlier, BMG reported that in April 2024, the number of registered employees in Armenia was 750,148, which is 4.8% more compared to the same period last year.

The average nominal monthly salary in April 2024 reached 273,243 drams (approximately $702), an increase of 6.8% compared to April last year. This growth is mainly due to the increase in salaries in both the public sector (by 14.2%) and the non-public sector (by 4.5%).
