After almost a week of heavy snowfall in Western Georgia, the Ministry of Internal Affairs purchased three snowmobiles on February 25 for "normal functioning."

According to the procurement document, 252,490 GEL was spent on snowmobiles, the supplier "Transporter " should have handed over them to the Emergency Management Service within a day on February 27.

BM.GE approached the Ministry of Internal Affairs with a question about how many snowmobiles the agency had before, to which the press service told us that we needed to request public information. The deadline for receiving a response to public information requests is 10 days.

"The snowmobiles will enable support for normal functioning of the service, ensure necessary mobilization in disaster zones, and facilitate safe movement for population evacuation in areas where rescue and various types of equipment cannot move," - writes Mikheil Amiranashvili, Head of the Logistics Department, to the head of the Emergency Management Service in the report.

The Ministry of Internal Affairs indicates that against the background of climate change, natural disasters are becoming more frequent and severe, and natural disasters are natural phenomena that cannot be predicted in advance.
