"I am unequivocally opposed to the Russian Law and the path to which the Russian Law leads," - this is how Meriko Gubeladze, a restaurateur evaluated the "Russian law" with BM.GE.
According to her, the citizens must not allow the adoption of the law.
"Wherever the country goes, there goes our business. As a citizen, I am unequivocally against this law and the way it leads. There cannot be two opinions here.
After the worst winter I've ever seen, the restaurant business has started to grow, and now, of course, the process will slow down. I want to emphasize that business takes a backseat at this time and ongoing events in the country are the most important. The citizens must not allow adoption the law. It is secondery, what harms my business or someone else's," said Gubeladze.
The Legal Affairs Committee of the Parliament of Georgia considered and approved the draft law On Transparency of Foreign Influence in the first reading after a 12-hour-long discussion.
The amendments provide for the registration of non-entrepreneurial (non-commercial) legal entities and media as “the organizations pursuing the interests of a foreign power” if a certain amount of their income, over 20 percent, is received from abroad.
