Do you see how much of a problem it is when a person is too lazy to read and write and prefers to yell and scream. The second hearing was 2 weeks ago, and they have just discovered something that took place 2 weeks ago, - this is how Speaker of the Parliament Shalva Papuashvili responded to the question regarding the changes made to the final version of the "Transparency of Foreign Influence" bill.

According to Papuashvili, the information is false, as if the issue of registration also applies to individuals.

"You see why it was good for them to read the law, read the bill, listen and attend hearings. While the opposition, part of the media and NGOs were busy banging on the table, shouting and trying to stifle the discussion, if they had listened, they would have seen how this bill was being discussed. This issue, which you are talking about, was discussed at the plenary session during the second reading. It is a lie, as if the law refers to the registration of individuals, it is an absolute lie. We have stated this from the beginning that we did not want to adopt the strict American approach, the American approach is obviously very strict, we have a soft approach and individuals are not subject to registration. This was the issue discussed during the second hearing, it implies that when it is necessary to obtain information, persons have an obligation to provide this information, both legal and natural persons.

Do you see how much of a problem it is when a person is too lazy to read and write and prefers to yell and scream. The second hearing was 2 weeks ago, and they have just discovered something that took place 2 weeks ago. It is sometimes necessary to obtain information regarding individual organizations, everyone is obliged, both organizations and individuals, to provide information. There are organizations with more than 20% foreign funding”, Papuashvili said.

For information, according to the non-governmental organizations, the Parliament adopted a much tougher version of the draft law on "Transparency of foreign influence" than the original version and "secretly added separate articles".
