At the government meeting on April 12, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan shared positive dynamics in the field of Information Technology (IT) in Armenia.
He announced an increase in the number of registered employees in this sector in February 2024 compared to the previous year. Although this growth is not significant, its recording indicates positive changes.
Pashinyan also responded to criticism from the parliamentary opposition regarding IT policy. He refuted statements about a mass exodus of professionals from this field, noting that they do not correspond to reality.
Instead, he emphasized holding meetings with industry representatives to discuss possible policy regulation schemes in the IT sector aimed at attracting more professionals and investors.
Earlier, BMG, citing a report from the consulting company Modex, wrote that the turnover of Armenia's IT sector in 2023 amounted to 837 billion drams ($2.12 billion), which is 252 billion drams (over $630 million) or 43% more than in 2022.
