In January-March 2025, the VAT, excise, profit and import tax plan could not be fulfilled. According to the data from the Ministry of Finance, the largest backlog is in the excise section.
According to the report on budget performance, the predicted volume of taxes for the first quarter was 5.3 billion GEL, and the received volume amounted to 5.4 billion GEL, or 102.3% of the forecast volume.
In more detail, the performance by taxes in the first quarter was as follows:
- The predicted volume of income tax amounted to 1.85 billion GEL, 1.87 billion GEL was received, or 101.3% of the forecast volume;
- The volume of income tax revenues amounted to 821 million GEL, which was 96.6% of the forecast volume of 850 million GEL.
- The forecast volume of value added tax amounted to 1.88 billion GEL, while the actual amount received was 1.87 billion GEL, or 99.4% of the forecast volume.
- Revenues received in the form of excise duty amounted to 490.5 million GEL, which was 87.6% of the forecast volume of 560 million GEL.
- The predicted volume of import tax amounted to 35 million GEL, while the actual revenue received was 31.3 million GEL, which is 89.5% of the plan.
- Revenues received in the form of other taxes amounted to 339.5 million GEL in January-March, which was 261.2% of the predicted volume of 130 million GEL.
