Capital Market Expert Marina Guledani deeply believes that the only way out of the current situation is to hold new elections in Georgia. She predicts that the national currency will further depreciate, which already has dropped by 7 and 6 tetri against the USD and EUR on December 3.
"What is happening now is not subject to control and creates a lot of uncertainty. We do not know what will happen, or how this process will end. We also do not know what the ruling party "Georgian Dream" is planning. One is clear: nothing can quell the great aggression and anger that has accumulated in society except for announcing new elections. There is simply no other solution," Guledani says.
Irakli Kobakhidze announced on November 28 that the ruling Georgian Dream party decided to abort the efforts to start the accession negotiations with the EU “until 2028.” He also said the cabinet would refuse all EU budget support. According to him, Georgia will enter the EU in 2030, but on its own terms, “with dignity.” This statement contradicts the EU accession procedure.
