“Only 1 % of tourists are in Lagodekhi now compared to pre-pandemic levels”, - Giorgi Gogoberishvili, founder of Restaurant/Hotel Tsiskvili declares.
As he notes, 2021 is worse for the business compared to 2020.
“Everything was much easier before the pandemic… Our hotels and restaurants have been often visited by tourists from various countries, because we are located very close to the Lagodekhi National Park and it is comfortable for the tourists. However, this summer is not even as busy as 2020”, - founder of Tsiskvili declares.
Giorgi Gogoberishvili declares that the pandemic caused quite big changes in Lagodekhi.
"When the pandemic started, we had to continue to operate in compliance with all regulations, so we had to retrain staff to meet tourists with appropriate security and safety. It was very difficult for us and we solved great difficulties in the training process. We demand more involvement of the state in the tourism business," said Giorgi Gogoberishvili.
