Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili urged able-bodied socially vulnerable citizens to be active and engage in the public employment program. With 20,000 applications already in, the goal is to create 200,000 new jobs.
"Once again, I would like to urge able-bodied, active socially vulnerable citizens engaging in the public employment program. The program has received 20,000 applications, and they have expressed their commitment. But more applications are needed. Our ultimate goal is to create 200,000 new jobs. It may not happen this year, but very much achievable within 2-3 years. This year, we really want to employ 50,000 people. Just now, we are launching large-scale construction projects across the country. After the Cabinet meeting, we will meet with the Ministers and discuss individual projects planned for each Ministry. Consequently, more jobs will be created, there will be greater demand, and I once again urge our citizens to become involved in this program as soon as possible," the Prime Minister underlined.
