Zurab Gojiashvili, the founder of "Tiriponi Gardens", told BM.GE that they planted the apple orchards to replace the imported product and supply the local market with Georgian apples.
As for the exports, Zurab Gojiashvili says that the company is in standby mode at this stage and the exports depend on the demand of the local market.
"When we get the harvest, we will study the local market and it will show. Our goal is to satisfy and supply Georgian customers. We are trying to promote new varieties in the market with a collective approach”, - Gojiashvili said.
Zurab Gojiashvili founded "Tiriponi Gardens" in 2014 in the village of Kvarkhiti near Gori. The apple orchard was planted with the support of state programs and USAID assistance. Today, 7 types of apples and 2 types of pears are grown in the 31-hectare garden equipped with anti-hail nets.
