Top Fly founder Data Akubardia said he is not planning to reopen the company’s physical office in Georgia for now, citing high prices and weaker purchasing power. The company closed its Zugdidi office about two years ago and now operates online, mainly serving existing customers with flight and hotel bookings.

According to Akubardia, uncertainty and weaker travel demand affected the business, while the adoption of the so-called “Russian law” also discouraged some customers from traveling. He currently works in the U.S. and is considering continuing his tourism business there in the future.

“Prices are so high and the situation is such that, unless something changes for the better, I don’t think so. At this stage, I am not considering reopening the office,” he said.

Akubardia also said airfares have risen by more than 50%, with some tickets reaching GEL 1,500. He said many consumers are now prioritizing basic necessities over travel due to high prices and unemployment.
