Galt&Taggart predicts that tourist trips will be fully returned to 2019 rate. In addition, the organization forecasts revenues to increase from tourism by 15% up to USD 4 billion.
Before the pandemic, Georgia received almost USD 3.3 billion as income from international travel in 2019, while the figure increased to USD 3.5 billion in 2022, which was a record.
According to the data of the National Bank of Georgia, in 2022, Georgia received the highest tourist income in August, which amounted to USD 523 million.
The organization shows tourism revenues by regions. According to it, tourism revenues in Tbilisi increased by 3% compared to 2019 and amounted to USD 1.275 billion, there was a 47% increase in the Ajara region, where tourism revenues exceeded USD 1 billion last year.
