Georgia hosted 359,238 international travellers in May, posting a 49.7% recovery from the pre-pandemic 2019 figure and an increase of 228.5% year-on-year, - the Georgian National Tourism Administration (GNTA) announced on Monday.
The GNTA also revealed the number included 264,327 tourist visits - marking a 62.3% recovery for the same period of 2019 and a 173.9% increase compared to the same period of last year.
In the first five months of 2022, international travellers made 1,180,034 visits in Georgia, an increase of 257.8% compared to the same period of last year and a 39.5% recovery compared to 2019.
During the same period, the number of tourist visits totalled 906,670, which is 213.8% increase year-on-year and 54.8% recovery compared to January-May 2019, - the GNTA said.
