Recently, mass deportation of tourists has been taking place in Georgia, - tour guide Giorgi Cherkezishvili told BM.GE about this.

According to him, creating obstacles by border guards has been a challenge in Georgia for a very long time. Especially at Kutaisi airport. However, according to Cherkezishvili, cases of mass deportation have started recently.

"I've been bringing tourists for 7 years. There are numerous cases where tourists who have hotel reservations, insurance, and all necessary documents are turned back. Mostly, tourists from Gulf countries face problems. These people are definitely not criminals, but they are being turned back at the border without even being given a reason", - said the tour guide and noted that no one was speaking up about this.

According to him, "tourists are being verbally abused at the border and are practically not considered human beings". He adds that European tourists might also be getting deported, though Giorgi Cherkezishvili finds it difficult to say for sure, as many European and American tourists have recently canceled their visits.

"Due to the events developing in the country, European and American tourists have canceled their reservations. The only tourists coming are from Asia and we're sending them to Armenia too?! - The situation in Georgia's tourism is such that instead of support, there is interference", - stated Giorgi Cherkezishvili.
