Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov announced an unprecedented increase in trade turnover between Russia and Armenia, which reached a record $12 billion last year.

At a joint press conference with Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan on January 21 in Moscow, Lavrov emphasized that such impressive results were achieved through effective bilateral cooperation and collaboration within the framework of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU).

"Trade turnover is reaching record levels: nearly 12 billion dollars for last year, according to statistics. Our cooperation, both bilaterally and within the EAEU, ensures such truly impressive figures," the Russian minister stated.

Earlier, BMG reported that Russia remains Armenia's main trading partner, with a trade volume of $11.6 billion in the first 11 months of 2024, marking a 71.6% increase. However, exports to Russia declined by 10.1%, dropping from $3.3 billion last year to $2.95 billion during the same period in 2024, while imports from Russia grew 2.5 times, reaching approximately $8.6 billion.

During the reporting period, Russia's share in Armenia's foreign trade structure also increased from 38.6% last year to 42.2%.
